Lamborghini takes its iconic models to ice to celebrate its 60th anniversary

ABU DHABI: Automobili Lamborghini showcased its rare automotive treasure Polo Storico in a unique setting to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Polo Storico certified Miura P400 SV, a one-off Miura P400 S, and a Countach LP 500 took part in a one-of-a-kind event, THE ICE motoring event, and international Concours d'elegance. The event was held at the St. Moritz frozen lake to celebrate the different vehicles' originality, historical significance, and overall condition. St. Moritz frozen lake played its role as a snow polo competition field and became a playground for the most beautiful classic cars in the world. 

The event featured the most stylish and modern classic cars, including the Polo Storico-certified "Millechiodi," which competed against some of the world-class vintage cars. This was also an opportunity for Lamborghini's Polo Storico to test the handling and horsepower across the treacherous icy surface of the lake. Lamborghini Global After Sales Director said that the company is dedicated to preserving the history of its cars by performing major restorations and officially certifying its cars of the past. 

The Miura P400 S "Millechiodi" wooed everyone at the Concours d'elegance due to its coveted Certification of Historic Authentication and unique history. The name "Millechiodi" refers to the rivet-heavy body of the Jota. This iconic car was certified by Lamborghini Polo Storico and restored in 2018. In 1975 it became Walter Ronchi and Giovanni Sotgiu's property, two iconic names in Lamborghini's history. 

The Iron Dames drivers from Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab graced the event. They had an exciting ice-driving experience on Miura P400 SV. Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting, and Rahel Frey had the opportunity to drive the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV on the icy surface of St. Moritz. They appreciated Lamborghini's iconic first true "supercar" in an unconventional setting. 

Lamborghini's 60th-anniversary celebrations will continue in September. The brand will organize the 60th anniversary Polo Storico Tour for classic Lamborghini cars in Italy.
