Infinity QX55 teased ahead of launch
ABU DHABI: Nissan’s luxury marque, Infiniti has teased a new SUV, namely QX55, which will soon be added to the carmaker’s evergreen portfolio. The first-generation FX crossover will make its debut during next year’s middle.
According to INFINITI Motor Company Deputy Chairman, Mike Colleran, ”The INFINITI QX55 is a stunning new SUV coupe in the heart of one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments, globally.” He also added, “Customers will appreciate the distinctive design of the QX55 which features a sporty coupe-like roofline. We know customers and retailers are eagerly looking forward to the QX55, which will be available next year.”
The QX designation is likely to follow the footsteps of the FX plate. However, the SUV’s nameplate contains ’55’ suffix, that is clearly indicating that the upcoming model will be smaller than the QX70 sibling. The size will be closer to the Q50 sedan, and on the other hand, there are some similar designing cures with Q60 Coupe for its sleek roof.
The details of the Infiniti QX55 has not released yet. However, it is likey to have the QX50’s engine, which is the 2.0-litre VC-Turbo petrol engine. It is capable of delivering a maximum power of 272 PS, and the peak torque is at 390 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a continuously variable transmission. It has front-wheel drive system as standard, while there is an all-wheel-drive system too.
It looks like the coupe-roofed QX55 will come with some similar features like the QX50. These include DAS (Direct Adaptive Steering) along with the ProPILOT Assist suite. The car is expected to have the Infiniti’s InTouch infotainment setup’s latest iteration. In QX50 the infotainment setup has two touchscreen displays.
