Infiniti QX Inspiration concept images released ahead of official debut
ABU DHABI: Infiniti QX Inspiration, the electric SUV concept to debut at the 2019 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and just a week before the event, the company has released its first exterior photos. Infiniti will showcase the design language for the upcoming electric vehicles that are scheduled to launch in 2021.
Unlike the previous Infiniti models, the new QX Inspiration concept comes with an angular design. The sharp edges have been kept at bay while the corners and curves of the concept are softer than other Infiniti models.
Upfront, the Infiniti QX Inspiration concept gets trapezoidal grille with an illuminated logo and lettering in the centre, sleek headlights, and smooth-looking hood. The side profile is dominated with the low slung roofline that gives it a coupe-cum-SUV appearance and the sparkling alloy wheels. The door mirrors are replaced with cameras.
The interior space, which is not yet revealed, is likely to be of top-notch quality. Since there is no fuel engine under the bonnet, the cabin space is expected to be more spacious than usual. So, you can expect a lounge-like feel inside this electric SUV model. The technology inside is said to be inspired by omotenashi, the Japanese hospitality principle of providing outstanding hospitality. Hence, we are expecting the environment inside to be more than overwhelming for not only the driver but also for the other occupants.
Karim Habib, the executive design director at Infiniti, said “QX Inspiration is the beginning of a new era for Infiniti and an illustration of where we want to go with the brand. New technology has given us the opportunity to evolve our design philosophy – and the new vehicle communicates the serene strength at our core.”
For more details, we’ll have to wait until the doors of the NAIAS go wide from Jan 14 next week. Till then stay tuned with us for relevant stories from around the automotive world.
