ABU DHABI: Hyundai has reached a huge milestone by producing 100 million cars globally in just 57 years since its founding in 1967. To commemorate this achievement, the automaker presented its 100 millionth vehicle, an all-electric Ioniq 5, to its new owner.

Since the 1960s, Hyundai has seen immense growth establishing plants in the United States, India, Czech Republic, and Turkey. It took the company 46 years to achieve the 50 million units production milestone in 2013 and it took 11 more years to achieve the 100 million production milestone.
Jaehoon Chang, Hyundai’s President and CEO said that reaching 100 million vehicles in global cumulative production is a significant milestone that was only possible by the brand’s loyal customers. He emphasized that the pursuit of innovation and bold challenges will propel the automaker toward another 100 million units.
Though Hyundai doesn’t have an extensive motorsport history, it has become a major industry player by creating top-notch vehicles. The Veloster N is its first true-performance car and the Ioniq 5 N is anticipated to become one of the most thrilling electric vehicles on the market.
