Honda’s Cybertruck-like sedan achieves Red Dot design award

ABU DHABI: Honda achieved another milestone at the Red Dot Design Awards. In the Design Concept category, the Honda 0 Series flagship saloon concept, has bagged the 'Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024' award. Additionally, the Space-Hub, another revolutionary concept from the same series, was also honoured in the same category.

The Honda 0 Series was revealed at CES 2024 as part of the global electrification strategy of Honda. It features the Space-Hub and Saloon concepts that exemplify the ‘Thin, Light, and Wise’ design philosophy of Honda, which is entirely based on a streamlined, sleek form with a smooth rising line and a wide, low stance to set the direction for future EV development.

Managing Director of Honda R&D Co. Ltd's Design Centre, Toshinobu Minami, expressed happiness at bagging the Red Dot Award in Design Concept, following previous recognitions in Product Design. He said that the Saloon, named ‘Best of the Best,’ showcases the transformation of Honda with its unique design and focus on aligning well with the customers, environment, and society.

The exterior of the Saloon features a one-motion, sleek form with a striking design. Its upright side glass enhances the expansiveness of the side panel while tapering toward the sills on the side to accentuate the tyres. Inside, it comes with a streamlined human-machine interface for an intuitive and seamless user experience.

Honda's recent recognitions and awards are built on its earlier success in April when it bagged four Product Design awards for the EM1 e: electric moped, BF350 large outboard motor, Motocompacto ultra-compact e-scooter, and Miimo robotic lawn mower.
