Honda reveals new Passport SUV with bold updates

ABU DHABI:  The original Honda Passport, which made its debut in the early 1990s, marked the entry of the brand into the SUV market. Now, Honda has unveiled the all-new fourth-generation Passport SUV, featuring a boxier design. It is also available with the off-road-focused TrailSport trim.

The new Honda Passport SUV exudes a more chiseled, rugged design making it stand out from the crossover look of its predecessor. It boasts a boxy front with a flat clamshell hood, rectangular headlamps, and an upright grille that is beautifully engraved with a large Honda logo. 

The SUV includes black door handles, flared fenders, and around-the-wheel arches it comes with plastic cladding. With a shorter front overhang and increased ground clearance, it offers exceptional off-road capability. It has 31-inch tyres and rides on 18-inch alloys. The rear features a wraparound windscreen, a chunky bumper, and contrasting black trim with a faux silver skid plate.

The interior of the Honda Passport boasts a well-organized layout with buttons, physical dials, and a 12.4-inch infotainment screen that displays off-road information. The 5-seater SUV comes with an all-black dashboard with contrasting door pads and seat upholstery. 

Additional features include dual-zone climate control, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, an ADAS suite, and a 360-degree camera.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the Honda Passport producing 285hp. It is mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This engine has been utilized in various Honda models but it isn't electrified. The off-road-focused TrailSport variant comes with a unique suspension setup for exceptional off-road performance.

No information is yet available on the launch of the fourth-generation Honda Passport in the UAE.
