Honda HR-V facelift set for launch in Thailand on November 28

ABU DHABI: Honda Thailand made the confirmation that it will launch the facelifted HR-V on November 28 at the Thailand International Motor Expo. The automaker has also released the updated B-segment SUV’s preliminary images, which were revealed previously in Japan.

The vehicle that has been showcased is the Honda HR-V e RS, which comes with refreshed styling elements like a broader trapezoidal grille with chrome accents, redesigned LED headlights, and a relocated RS and Honda badge. These updates make it stand out from the previous RS model, which came with a more vertical grille having chrome pins.

The facelifted HR-V also comes with full-width taillights with updated alloy wheel designs and a connecting light bar. A new Sand Khaki Pearl paint option is being offered with a contrasting black roof. Inside, it now comes with a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The facelifted HR-V will feature the previous powertrain. It will be equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine mated with an e-CVT and two electric motors. It generates around 131 PS and 253 Nm of torque, with 25.6 km/l claimed fuel consumption. The engine acts as a generator, while the front wheels are driven by a larger motor, with a lock-up clutch that provides direct drive at high speeds.

While the facelifted HR-V will debut in Thailand this year, Honda’s UAE fans might have to wait longer as this model isn’t expected to be launched anytime soon here.
