Honda HR-V enters the UAE
ABU DHABI: Honda is all set to enter the competitive compact crossover market with the HR-V. While it was launched late last month, it will go on sale in the next few weeks. The HR-V will face stiff competition from the likes of the Nissan Kicks and the segment leader Mazda CX-3. More of these 5 seater compact crossovers are set to enter the MENA region while some like the Hyundai Kona are already available. Honda is offering the HR-V in 3 variants, all of which will hit showrooms in the region by the end of the month.
The entry-level DX variant is priced at AED 69,900 while the mid LX variant costs AED 76,900 and the range-topper EX will set you back by AED 86,900. The new Honda HR-V draws power from a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, pumping out 140 bhp and 172Nm of torque. A CVT gearbox puts the power down via the front wheels.
Apart from the HR-V, Honda UAE also took the wraps off the 2019 mid-sized CR-V and the flagship SUV, the Pilot. A host of technology upgrades are given to both the cars. The Pilot gets a hands-free power tailgate along with a slew of upgrades to the connected car technology. A new Pilot Touring grade has also been introduced. The fifth generation CR-V now gets a powered tailgate along with technology upgrades.
