Dodge teases new 797 horsepower Challanger

AUB DHABI: Dodge is not new in the teasing game. In fact, it has proven that its teasers can give a hint of many things correctly. One needs to understand the little hints and the news will be out in the open. This teasing strategy has worked in the past to create a curiosity among the desperate fan base. For instance, the Dodge Charger Hellcat. Who can forget that? Definitely, it did what it was meant for, i.e. to irritate the fan base. Now, Dodge is back and this time it has something really new. Today, Dodge released a teaser on YouTube with the “RED767_62818.”

Does it make sense to anyone? Indeed, it does. Interestingly, this teaser hints at so many things. By taking a closer look at the video, one can see the Dodge Challenger off in the distance. The challenger is approaching the camera while dust is billowing beneath it. The wailing of the supercharger is audible and one can also find two large vents on the hood pushed right up to the edge. The moment before the Challenger gets close to the camera, the screen gets blurred. Immediately, the screen cuts to black and there appears a text reading “LOCK: RED797_19.” That’s cryptic. The video ends with “Coming Soon.”

This is weird, isn't? The text appears to be pointing towards a model, designation, and year. The initial part of the video seems vague at the first look, with a Google search of RED797,  it shows a few Dodge Ram 1500 auctions. However, if we speculate that Red stands for any new trim and 797 could be a clue of the car’s horsepower, then it completes the puzzle. However, this seems improbable till now as a supercharger only corroborates high-powered 6.2-litre V8 (if possible). The only easier part of the text to decipher is the last one as it reads “_19” in the video and this could most probably represent the 2019 model year.

Conclusion

The good thing is that with this decipher, one only needs to wait and see whether a new car with 797 horsepower gets unveiled or not. Undoubtedly, this seems to be the best time to hit dealerships before the year gets wrapped up.
