Dacia Spring gets a makeover taking cues from the Kwid EV

ABU DHABI: Dacia has unveiled the Spring’s updated version, enhancing its affordable urban EV appeal. The 2024 Dacia Spring has adopted the latest design elements of the brand and is inspired by the popular Duster SUV while maintaining its crossover characteristics and generous ground clearance. 

The Dacia Spring has been manufactured in China and is based on the Renault Kwid, which was released with combustion engines in 2015.

The 2024 Spring’s updated exterior is in line with the contemporary design approach set by Dacia, reminding you of the new Duster SUV. Some of the unique features include square wheel arches and ample plastic body cladding giving a rugged look to this compact EV. These enhancements make it stand out from the original version, which looked a bit outdated, bringing some modernization to the most budget-friendly electric vehicle in Europe.

Inside the 2024 Dacia Spring, many updates are evident such as a new dashboard layout. The cabin has revamped air vents and redesigned climate controls for a fresh aesthetic. The steering has also been updated and it displays the new DC corporate logo. Additionally, a convenient smartphone holder and a new gear selector behind it enhance the interior space and overall functionality of the vehicle.

With the Dacia Spring, you get two different motor choices: 65 horsepower for the top-notch variant and 45 horsepower for the base model. The more powerful motor takes under 14 seconds to accelerate the EV from 0 to 62 mph, while the base model takes under 20 seconds to achieve the same results. 

The EV is equipped with a 26.8-kWh battery that provides over 137 miles (220 km) of range. With a 30-kW DC charger, it takes 45 minutes to charge from 20 to 80 percent, and with a 7-kilowatt AC, the charging time is nearly 11 hours.
