Corvette C7 comes to an end with the Final Edition model
ABU DHABI: With the Corvette C8 slotted for release later this year, possibly in a mid-engine layout, we bid farewell to the C7 in the form of the Final Edition model. It is being offered in two variant options - Corvette Grand Sport and the Z06. Both of these machines are endowed with a 6.2-litre V8 engine in different states of tune. The Grand Sport puts out 460 bhp while the Z06 makes 650 bhp.
Some of the superficial treatments include Sebring Orange and Matrix Gray paint along with lots of carbon fibre treatment. Coming to the performance side of things, the Final Edition is fitted with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, a new track-focused suspension setup, and the performance data logger. Helping you stick to the corners like glue, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 is also on offer. Aiding it slice through the air is the aerodynamic package featuring a carbon-fibre front splitter and side skirts. The Grand Sport Final Edition also has distinct black fender hash marks and a Final Edition graphic on the side. Accents of carbon-fibre extend to the interiors with black nappa leather enveloping the entire cabin. The contrast stitching and competition sports seats wrap up the inside with flair.
Both variants of the C7 Final Edition come with a 7-speed manual gearbox as standard. The Grand Sport does offer an 8-speed automatic as an option. Competition for the Final Edition is seen in the likes of the Porsche GT3 and 911 Carrera S. The Final Edition could be the last front-engined Corvette ever.
Chevrolet UAE currently offers the standard Corvette in ten variants. And only time will tell if this Final Edition makes it to the country.
