Chevy Corvette C8 convertible buttons

A few days back, General Motors released a seven seconds video of Chevy Corvette C8 Convertible which showed the disappearance of the roof from the top and also a Facebook post showing convertible C8 race car.

Now, the automaker shared multiple press images of the new vehicle clicked at the time of public debut. Besides exterior specs, the images also disclose the Chevy Corvette C8 interior cockpit. 

At that time, no thoughts were given on the interior controls of the vehicle given for operating it’s hardtop convertible top as well as the rear window which appears to be retractable as well. 

A member of MidEngineCorvetteForum finally noticed the interior cockpit deeply and found that the interior cockpit image included two buttons. One button for lowering the rear window and the other one for lowering the top.

An amazing fact is that the Corvette Stingray’s rear window can be raised or lowered independently of the top. It will work like the Wind Restrictors which can be used to cut down on blowing hair and bothering winds inside the vehicle’s cockpit.

Besides this, the tiny Zora Arkus-Duntov stickers were observed on the vehicle’s prototype, which also could have some hidden meaning.

The mechanical bits of the vehicle are still not disclosed by the automaker but it can be estimated that the same 6.2-litre V8 in the droptop model will be there, which makes 490 PS of power in stock form and 495 PS with the optional performance exhaust. 

The official premiere of the vehicle is scheduled for October 2 at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center. And, it will go on sale in early 2020. However, new convertible C8 may not excite the buyers initially as the winters are approaching but still the folding hardtop vehicle is more four-season friendly in comparison to open-roof Corvette.
