Engine Specifications

Based on the destination, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max gets different powertrains to meet market and price expectations, like the Philippines market gets three engine options - 1.6L turbo, 2.0L turbo, and the hybrid 1.5L.

However, we can expect just the 2.0L turbo and 1.5L hybrid for the Middle Eastern market. The 2.0L turbocharged engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 254 hp and a peak torque of 390 Nm. This will be paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox. With that power, the SUV can hit a top speed of 200 mph while sprinting to 100 kmph from the start in just 7.3 seconds. That’s the kind of SUV we want here in the UAE.

On the other hand, the Philippines plug-in hybrid model makes 320 hp combined from the 1.5L combustion engine and electric motor, along with a huge 545 Nm torque.

That said, a lot of countries get only the front-wheel-drive version of the car, though AWDs are also sold in many markets. So for UAE, we can expect the all-wheel drive to make its way.

The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro Max offers a good number of safety features, irrespective of the country it is sold in. It also has a 5-star rating in many crash tests as well. As for the safety of the passengers, the car could get:
