Cadillac Opulent Velocity performance EV concept breaks cover

ABU DHABI: Cadillac has unveiled its latest concept, an all-electric hypercar named the Opulent Velocity. This model represents the brand's future vision for performance and luxury. The Opulent Velocity features cutting-edge technology and a striking design that pays homage to Cadillac's motorsport heritage.

The Cadillac Opulent Velocity comes with dual driving modes: “Opulent” for a fully autonomous, serene experience, and “Velocity” for a high-performance, exhilarating manual drive. These modes cater to people with distinct driving preferences.

The Cadillac Opulent Velocity in “Opulent” mode emphasizes supreme relaxation and comfort, with the help of Level 4 autonomous driving technology allowing you to operate it hands-free. Passengers enjoy a premium quality interior with an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD), widescreen display, and multi-sensory features like ambient lighting, leading to an immersive and personalized environment.

In “Velocity” mode, the high-performance features of Opulent Velocity activate, with the pedals and steering wheel emerging for manual control. This mode comes on the HUD with a “Ghost Car” function for virtual racing and gives the flexibility to drivers to adjust suspension, active aero settings, and other performance parameters.

The exterior of the Opulent Velocity seems to be inspired by the Cadillac’s V-Series.R race cars.  It features butterfly doors, a sleek silhouette, crystal detailing, vertical lighting, and an illuminated 3D grille in Gilded Pearl paint.

The cabin combines 3D-printed components with premium materials and advanced technology, offering a 2+2 seating layout, a race-inspired Y-shaped steering wheel, and a digital cockpit.

As GM aims to fully electrify its light-duty vehicle lineup by 2035, the Cadillac Opulent Velocity concept underscores that electric motors and batteries are key to the future of performance and luxury.
