BMW reveals new 2 Series Gran Coupé
ABU DHABI: The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes with significant improvements in design over its predecessor marking a shift from its earlier bulbous shape. Despite facing a challenge in pricing compared to the roomier X1 crossover and rear-drive 2 Series coupe, it offers a more eye-catching exterior.

The exterior design of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé is sporty with a powerful rear, an elongated silhouette, and a pronounced front section. Its large air inlet and wide grille elevate its low-slung look, while LED headlights are integrated with vertical daytime running lights. An athletic shoulder section and a flowing roofline are highlighted by the side view, complemented by a modern rear with integrated exhausts and flat lights.
The vehicle is offered in various finishes and has grown in length by 20 mm, with dimensions of 1,800 mm wide, 4,546 mm long, and 1,445 mm high.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé’s interior is completely leather-free, featuring Veganza/Alcantara trim. It includes a newly designed gear selector and BMW Curved Display, elevating its modern appeal.
The newly designed seats prioritize comfort, including optional M sports and sports seats with features such as massage and heating. The rear seat backrest comes with a 40:20:40 split, and for most variants, the storage volume is around 430 liters.

For enhanced comfort and agility, the new BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupé comes with adaptive M suspension with variable shock absorbers. This system lowers the vehicle by up to 8 millimeters and smooths out pressure peaks. For other model variants, you can get the adaptive suspension as part of the optional M Sport package.
The new BMW 220i Gran Coupé is offered with advanced 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engines, generating 125 kW/170 hp and featuring 5.8–5.2 l/100 km of combined fuel consumption. The 220d version produces around 120 kW/163 hp with 4.6–4.2 l/100 km of fuel efficiency, while the 218d generates around 110 kW/150 hp. All models are offered with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission and come with 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé boasts enhanced chassis connections and body structure for improved steering precision and agility. Key updates include new shock absorber technology, optimized kinematics, and wheel slip limitation which is directly controlled. 17-inch alloy wheels are available as standard. M Sport package comes with Adaptive M suspension, up to 19-inch optional larger wheels and sports steering.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé comes with many advanced driver assistance systems. Standard features that are offered include the Driving Assistant with Lane Departure Warning and collision warnings, while optional updates encompass Lane Control and Steering Assistance, and Parking Assistant Professional. With the latter feature, you can remotely control parking maneuvers via the My BMW app.
The new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé boasts an extensive range of standard equipment, such as BMW Live Cockpit Plus. Optional packages, such as the Innovation package, add Parking Assistant Plus and BMW Live Cockpit Professional, while the Premium package includes Adaptive LED headlights and wireless charging. Additional options consist of a panoramic sunroof, a 2-zone automatic climate control, and a Harman kardon audio system.
The BMW iDrive, based on the Operating System 9 of BMW, offers intuitive vehicle control functions with QuickSelect. The cockpit is supported through touch multimodal operation, steering wheel buttons, and voice control. With BMW ConnectedDrive services customers can upgrade for navigation, entertainment, and more. Additionally, with the help of remote software upgrades, you can enjoy smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and over-the-air enhancements.
At the BMW Group's Leipzig plant, the new BMW 2 Series Coupé’s production will take place with its market launch expected to be in March 2025.
