Aston Martin Valkyrie supercar will race at Le Mans in 2025

ABU DHABI: Aston Martin is gearing up to participate in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans Hypercar class. It will compete for victory with the racing prototype model of its hypercar, Valkyrie, marking a significant development in the racing endeavours of Aston Martin. 

Supported by Heart of Racing, its endurance partner, Aston Martin, will enter into the IMSA sportscar championship in the United States and the hypercar category of the FIA World Endurance Championship with at least one Valkyrie race car.

These two series encompass grand events like the Daytona 24 Hours, Le Mans, and the 12 Hours of Sebring, elevating the excitement surrounding the racing prototype of Aston Martin.

Aston Martin Performance Technologies is working on Aston Martin's Valkyrie AMR Pro, which was designed for Le Mans Hypercar regulations. The main aim of the team is to create Valkyrie's competition prototype, to be homologated for the IMSA GTP and WEC Hypercar classes, scheduled for launch in 2025. This supercar will have a better version of the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine built by Cosworth. The Heart of Racing team will lead this endeavour and manage the participation of Aston Martin in IMSA and WEC.

" This HOR team has big ambitions in endurance racing, and this is absolutely the right time for us to step into the top classes of WEC and IMSA and challenge for overall honours. This is not an easy target, but between our partners and the support of Aston Martin Performance Technologies, it is one we have all the tools and capabilities in place to hit the bullseye with."
