Aston Martin confirms AM-RB 003’s official name as Valhalla
ABU DHABI: At the very beginning of 2019, the famous auto giant from Great Britain, Aston Martin informed that street-oriented car called the AM-RB 003 will be the baby brother of the Valkyrie hypercar. Car enthusiasts had believed this name to be the official one as earlier the carmaker called it Project 003. However, the manufacturer has surprised us by giving it a better and more region-specific name, Valhalla.
According to Andy Palmer, the president and CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda, “Aston Martin model names always attract a lot of attention. They do so because they invariably capture an emotion or tell a story. In following the Valkyrie we knew the Aston Martin Valhalla needed to make a strong statement of its own, yet also offer continuity and a clear connection. Norse mythology contains such powerful language and rich storytelling it felt only right that the AM-RB 003 should follow the Valkyrie’s theme.”
The new street-oriented car, Valhalla’s developing was done by a Red Bull Advanced Technologies and Aston Martin just like its big brother Valkyrie. The team also included Adrian Newey, the famous Formula 1 engineer. The designing is similar for both cars, especially from the front. However, the new car comes with less race-oriented and is more practical in terms of usage. The ride height of the car is high enough to take it a bit for off-roading.
As for the mechanical front, the Valhalla will come with a high output twin-turbo V6 engine, which is further coupled with a battery-electric hybrid system. While the power output figures are yet to be released from the manufacturer, we are expecting to get some mighty numbers.
Also, the saddest part of the story is that the company will only manufacture 500 units of this street-oriented car.
