Alpina Edition 99 is a bi-turbo BMW 4 Series

ABU DHABI: We all know how closely Alpina works on BMW cars. And now, the BMW 4 Series comes under the radar of this Bavarian automobile maker and tuner. Yes, the company has come up with a limited edition B4 S Bi-Turbo Edition 99.

As the name suggests, the Alpina BMW B4 S Bi-Turbo Edition 99 will have a limited run of just 99 units and will have both the convertible and coupe body styles. Officially known as the Edition 99, it will be made available in five different color options, which would include Grigio Medio, Alpina Blue, Fire Orange, Mineral White, and Sapphire. It would be given a set of 20-inch Alpina wheels in Ferric Grey color.

On the mechanism, Alpina has added a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre engine with a six-cylinder setup. This motor can churn out a maximum power of 452 PS along with a peak torque of 680 Nm. The transmission duties would be undertaken by an 8-speed automatic gearbox unit. Apart from this, a limited slip differential is given as a standard. The exhaust system is made of Akrapovic titanium so as to save weight by seven kilograms.

The RWD Coupe form of Edition 99 will be capable of hitting a top speed 306 kmpl following a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.2 seconds. The convertible body form is marginally slower in this regards and can do the century sprint in 4.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 304 kmph.

However, the all-wheel drive of the coupe will be quickest in the lot and can hit the 100 kmph mark from a standstill in just 3.9 seconds. However, the top speed is the most inferior in the lot with just 303 kmph. However, it is to be noted that the coupe comes with two drivetrain options while the convertible has just one.

The Alpina Edition 99 is presently available in its home country (Germany) at a price of €74,705 for the coupe (AED 312637.94) and €80,756 for the convertible (AED 337961.17).
