All-new Mitsubishi Delica Mini kei-car to go on sale in Japan next month

ABU DHABI: Kie cars are becoming adventurous these days, and one of the latest additions to this segment is Mitsubishi Delica Mini. Delica is a car whose history dates to 1968 when the first Delica Truck was introduced. Over the years, Delica has expanded its offerings from commercial vehicles to camper vans and passenger cars. This year Delica will celebrate its 55th anniversary, and with the all-new Mitsubishi Delica Mini, the automaker aims to acquire a greater market share. 

Mitsubishi premiered the Delica Mini in January at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon after officially previewing it in November 2022. Mitsubishi has tried its best to make Delica Mini a dynamic and dependable super height-wagon kei-car. It derives its name from the Delica minivan and has an SUV-like styling. 

The all-new Delica Mini is the successor to the Ek X Space, the super-height wagon mini car. The exterior of the Delica Mini is impressive and adventure-inspired, with a sculpted profile and a large greenhouse area. It features a unique face with LED headlight graphics similar to the Land Rover Defender. 

The seats have water-repellent, stain-resistant fabric, perfect for outdoor adventures and families with young children. Available technologies include lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and forward collision mitigation. The reclining and sliding seats on each side open up the possibility for various seat arrangements. 

Pricing for the Mitsubishi Delica Mini will range from ¥1,804,000 to ¥2,238,500 (approx AED 50,044.30 to AED 62097.65), depending upon the specifications. As of April 5, 2023, about 9,000 Mitsubishi Delica Mini units have been ordered. There is no information about the release of the all-new Delica Mini in the UAE market.
