All-new Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class breaks cover at Munich Motor Show
ABU DHABI: The German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz has showcased its concept electric car, the CLA Class, at the ongoing Munich Motor Show 2023. The brand's visionary EQXX concept seems to be the inspiration behind this new EV. It is built upon the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture, and its powertrain is derived from the EQXX concept that was previewed last year.

The Concept CLA Class has a bi-directional charging capability, indicating that the production version will be able to perform vehicle-to-grid (V2G), vehicle-to-home (V2H), and vehicle-to-appliance (V2A) tasks.
Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the MMA platform will provide two different battery options. The high-end version will have an anode design with silicon oxide for enhanced energy density, and the entry variant will be outfitted with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries.
The concept model exhibits a massive bonnet, sleek sloping roofline, and a futuristic illuminated grille displaying the brand's logo on it. The concept model was showcased in a pomegranate red colour scheme. It also features sharp yet elegantly rounded body lines, chrome finish bumpers, door-mounted ORVMs, and 21-inch wheels with an eye-catching star pattern.
In terms of its interior, the electric car comes with an advanced infotainment system that integrates seamlessly into the dashboard. The screen comprises three displays. The first one works as an instrument cluster, the second one is the infotainment system, and the third one is intended for the entertainment of the passenger.
The all-electric CLA is likely to enter into production in 2025.
