All-new 5-door Mini Cooper makes a grand debut
ABU DHABI: BMW-owned Mini has unveiled the next-generation Cooper’s 5-door variant. This latest model will enhance practicality without making any compromises to the dynamic driving experience and iconic design that people love about the 3-door model.

The newly introduced 5-door Cooper will be available with two powertrain options: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine.The 5-Door Cooper with its additional doors offers improved versatility and accessibility, making it the perfect option for those seeking a blend of functionality and style in their urban travels. Currently, the 5-Door Cooper is available exclusively with internal combustion engine drivetrains.
The newly introduced Cooper’s 5-door variant boasts dimensions that enhance practicality and interior space. Measuring 1,744 mm in width, 4,036 mm in length, and 1,464 mm in height, with a 2,567 mm wheelbase, the 5-door model provides optimum room for cargo and passengers alike. It is longer by 172 mm than its 3-door counterpart, with a wheelbase that extends by 72 mm. Additionally, with the second row folded the boot capacity now boasts a generous capacity of 923 litres, offering an additional 123 litres of storage in comparison to the 3-door model.
The new Mini Cooper proudly displays the "Charismatic Simplicity" design ethos. It maintains a compact silhouette with a small bonnet, short overhangs, and larger wheels. Key features include flush-fitting LED tail lights, LED headlights, an octagonal front grille, and a choice of 18- and 16-inch wheels. You can choose from four styling trims - Favoured, JCW, Essential, and Classic.
The newly introduced 5-door Cooper will be available with two powertrain options: a 2.0-litre four-cylinder and a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine. The 1.5-litre engine produces around 156 hp and 230 Nm torque and takes 8.2 seconds to propel the vehicle from 0 to 100 kmph. It has a 225 kmph top speed. Meanwhile, the 2.0-litre engine generates around 201 hp and 300 Nm torque, taking 6.8 seconds to achieve 0-100 kmph, with a 242 kmph top speed.
The all-new 5-door Mini Cooper’s production is expected to commence in July. The deliveries will start in September to European markets. Mini Cooper has not revealed anything about the launch of the all-new 5-door in the UAE.
