All-new 2023 Honda WR-V arrives in Thailand
ABU DHABI: The Japanese automaker Honda launched the new WR-V in Thailand following its debut in Indonesia last November. It is available in two variants, namely the RS and SV. The same model will be entering Malaysia, too, as few camouflaged units have been seen on the local highways.
The features and specifications of the Thai-spec WR-V are similar to the one that is being offered in Indonesia. Standard features include automatic air-conditioning, foldable and electrically adjustable side door mirrors, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto support and Apple CarPlay, and automatic LED headlights. There are a few differences in terms of equipment and exterior finishes.
The WR-V is shorter in height and length but slightly wider as compared to its predecessor. It measures 4,060 mm in length, 1,608 mm in height, and 1,780 mm in width. The wheelbase is 2,485 mm long.
Under the bonnet of the new Honda WR-V lies a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 145 Nm and 121 hp (metric).
The Honda WR-V is also equipped with the ADAS Suite, which consists of a Lane-Keeping Assist System, a Road Departure Mitigation system, a collision mitigation braking system, Adaptive Cruise Control, an Auto High Beam, and Lead Car Departure Notification system. However, six airbags and the Honda LaneWatch camera will only be available on the RS variant.
The RS and SV variants are available in four monotone colors, including Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Taffeta White, Stellar Diamond Pearl, and Crystal Black Pearl.
The interior is mostly black in the RS version, while the SV gets some silver highlights. The RS is also offered in a two-tone paint scheme comprising a black roof and an Ignite Red Metallic primary color. A wide range of accessories can also be ordered from the Modulo catalog to customize the WR-V as per your preference.
The WR-V was first launched in 2016 and was specifically built for the Indian and South African markets. It gives tough competition to the Daihatsu Rocky and Toyota Raize.
