Abarth opens new showroom at Airport Road, Dubai
ABU DHABI: Abarth has opened a new showroom for the Middle East. This new showroom is at the busy, Airport Road in Dubai and will be presenting the entire lineup of cars for sale.
Abarth is one of the oldest car manufacturer doing business in the market and came into existence in 1949, almost seven decades ago. Even till date, cars manufactured by the brand remains true to the name and logo, that is of a Scorpion. Presently, there are three models that are sold in UAE, the 695 Abarth, 595 Abarth and the latest Abarth 124 Spider.
For the Middle East market, Abarth offers the 595 and 695 Abarth in two guises, standard, and convertible. The convertible forms are named as 695 Rivale and 595 Competizione. The highlighting facts about these small and agile cars are Record Monza / Akrapovic exhaust system, robotized sequential gearbox along with paddle shifts and Brembo brakes.
These Abarth cars have a fire-breathing engine at the heart. The 1.4-litre turbocharged motor can thump out a maximum power of 180 hp along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. The 1.4-litre, MultiAir turbocharged engine in the 124 Spider, however, makes 170 hp power and 250 Nm torque but can hit a top speed of up to 224 kmph.
The best thing about this new Abarth 124 Spider is that it is laid on the same platform as the Mazda MX-5. The car weighs just 1,129 kgs and has the best-in-class weight-to-power ratio of 6.6 kgs for every horsepower.
