2024 Mazda CX-50 revealed in the US with upgraded suspension

ABU DHABI: The upgraded version of the Mazda CX-50 has been introduced in the US. The rugged SUV gets a recalibrated electric power-assist steering system and a re-tuned suspension setup for the 2024 model year, aligning perfectly with the goal of Mazda to help you get the most out of your outdoor adventures.

The 2024 CX-50 is being offered in the US in eight variants - S Preferred, S Select, S Premium, S Premium Plus, Turbo Premium, Turbo, Turbo Meridian Edition, and Turbo Premium Plus.

A 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine powers the S trims. It delivers a peak torque of 252 Nm and a robust 187 horsepower. The Turbo variants come with a 2.5-liter turbocharged Skyactiv-G four-cylinder mill, producing 433 Nm of torque and 256 horsepower when powered by 93 octane fuel. When fueled with 87 octane fuel, the 2.5-liter turbocharged Skyactiv-G four-cylinder mill produces 420 Nm of torque and 227 horsepower.

All CX-50s have an all-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission. Properly equipped, the 2024 CX-50 can tow 3,500 with the turbo and 2,000 pounds with the naturally aspirated engine.

Standard equipment includes LED headlights, black 17-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, and tinted glass. Inside are keyless starting and entry, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch digital display unit in the gauge cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, a twelve-speaker Bose audio system, and an HD radio.

The starting price of the 2024 Mazda CX-50 is around USD 30,300 (AED 111276) and goes up to USD 43,300 (AED 159018).

There is no update on whether the 2024 CX-50 will be available in the UAE.
