2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 earns the title of the most powerful muscle car

ABU DHABI: The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 marks the end of an era for the American muscle car. This special edition Challenger will be the last model to pack Dodge’s iconic V8 in its raw form. However, the end of the Demon 170 will also mark a new beginning for Dodge, as it will now focus on developing electric muscle cars.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is the world’s quickest production car as it can accelerate to 60 mph in 1.66 seconds, and at a trap speed of 151 mph, it can cover a quarter-mile in 8.9 seconds. The 1045-hp supercharged 6.2-liter engine allowed the Demon to break the quarter-mile 9.65-second record time at 225 kmph.

This special edition model was unveiled at a special event in Nevada, USA, on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s dragstrip. The car has undergone various performance upgrades, and Dodge says this exclusive variant is the world’s fastest, quickest, and most powerful muscle car.

It has three driving modes Custom, Drag, and Auto, which change transmission parameters, traction control, suspension, gearshift paddles, and steering. It comes with a single seat from the factory, but you can add a passenger seat by paying extra. It is the first-ever factory production car with fender flares and staggered drag radial tires.

Dodge will build only 3,000 versions of its final Hemi-powered muscle car. Actual production volume could even be reduced depending on component availability and production capacity. It will first arrive in the U.S. market and then head to Canada. In UAE and other Asian countries, this limited edition model might not be available.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 will go into production this July. You can view available dealer allocations for ordering this car at DodgeGarage.com. Those purchasing the SRT Demon 170 will get a chance to participate in Radford Racing School’s one-day SRT Experience class.
