2020 Porsche Taycan 4S unveiled
Porsche has officially unveiled the Taycan 4S, which will join the range-topping Taycan Turbo and Taycan S, as the most affordable first-ever electric vehicle manufactured by the German auto marquee. The model is expected to arrive in the second half of 2020.
The 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S comes with the permanent synchronous motor at each end just like the other members of Taycan family. You can find the rear axle with the 2-speed transmission. The standard 79.2 kWh battery is capable of churning out a boosted power of 530 PS, while with the Performance Battery Plus, which has a larger battery rated at 93.4 kWh, it will generate 571 PS of power.
Talking about the range, 407km is what the standard battery pack can travel, whereas the ‘Plus’ is good for 463km. The standard battery will charge at 225 kW, while the larger Plus battery will require a direct DC supply of 270 kW.
On the braking front, the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S comes with six-pistons at the front that measures 360mm and at the back, it gets four-piston disc brakes measuring 358mm. There will be ‘Sport Aero’ 20-inch alloys as standard with red brake calipers. Additionally, the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S gets Porsche Dynamic Light Plus, LED headlamps and darkened components on the rear diffuser and side sills.
Inside the cabin, you’d get a 10.9-inch infotainment system, ‘vegan leather’ seats with 14-way electric adjustment and an optional passenger display. It is a partial leather laid-out cabin. There will be plenty of interior design, colour and texture options for customers to choose from. The company has also used recycled items like fishnets for floor covering. For storage, there is an 82-litre compartment at the front and a 400-litre boot.
As far as pricing is concerned, no official word is out yet. However, expect it to be priced at around $200,000 (AED 7,34,596). This would make the Taycan 4S, the least expensive, in the Taycan line-up. It would, however, be $25,000 costlier than the Tesla Model S.
