Here’s how the all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max looks like
The all-new 2020 Isuzu D-Max has been revealed which will now enter its third generation. It’s been eight years since the D-Max was around and an overhaul was highly anticipated. With the start of a new decade, we’ll get to see a new, refreshed D-Max with bolder looks, sophisticated interiors, that’s also better at heart.
Talking about the styling, the all-new D-Max features slimmer headlights with U-shaped LED DRLs, a dominating front grille that spans all the way down to the half of bumper. Besides which are the dual-styled fog lamps. Over the sides are the stunning-looking wheels with promising character lines and bulges that add to its muscular avatar.
The rear section is quite similar with familiar taillights, though they now come with LED patterns and a more chiselled tailgate. Overall, the 2020 D-Max is a wider, taller and longer ute with evolutionary styling changes rather than revolutionary changes.
The interiors, on the other hand, have been completely revamped. No more flat designs inside the cabin on the dash, rather it now features a flowing design with chrome highlights that adds to the plushness of the pickup big time. There is a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, new toggle switches for AC instead of dials, refreshed style for the gear selector with glossy black finish at the top and leather at the bottom.
The multi-information instrument cluster display is bigger than before, comes with better graphics and measures 4.2 inches. The large infotainment system at the centre of the dash is the main highlight of the cabin which now comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The all-black interiors with chrome accents make the cabin sportier than before.
There are two engine options available, one is the 1.9-litre RZ4E with the ability to churn out 150 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque, while the other is an enhanced 3.0-litre engine powered by BluePower technology with boosted performance. It now makes out 190 PS of max power and 450 Nm of peak torque. Both engines come with transmission choices of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic.
The off-roading specific model of the all-new D-Max gets a rear locking differential and an increased water wading capacity of 800mm.
No announcement has been made by Isuzu on when will it be launched in this part of the world yet. We are hoping it to arrive at the end of the next year or maybe a tad earlier. Stay tuned with Zigwheels UAE for more updates on the 2020 D-Max and other automotive news.
