2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo is out
ABU DHABI: In order to give the likes of the McLaren, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Lamborghini race cars a coherent fight, Ferrari, the Italian automobile expert, has unleashed the all-new 2020 488 GT3 Evo.
Based on the Ferrari 488 GT3, the Evo avatar boasts improved reliability, aerodynamics, handling, and safety as compared to the former. The power, however, still comes out of the same 90-degree turbocharged V8 engine that powers the 488 GT3 as well.
The 2020 Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo features a new front end, which is a result of more than 18,000 hours of CFD simulations and wind-tunnel testing. Larger turning vanes in the splitter, a smaller than before segment under the headlights, and a pair of flicks that induce improved downforce form the changes upfront.
Ferrari has also increased the size of the vents that sit at the top front fenders and redesigned the rear vents. Also, the doors now flaunt a more tapered front section. The best part? Owners of a Ferrari 488 GT3 can get their unit upgraded to match the specifications of the Evo model.
Thanks to a larger wheelbase than the standard 488 GT3, the Evo features improved stability and the tyres will now face less wear & tear. Also, the 488 GT3 Evo is lighter than the standard 488 GT3 and has received updates for its anti-lock braking system and traction control to complement the mechanical changes.
Other updated and changes include a new seat that is 2.4-kg lighter than the previous unit, more lighting elements in the front bumper, new steel wheel nuts, quick-fill features for oil & coolant, better brake callipers, and a carbon clutch. Stay tuned to Zigwheels UAE for more such updates.
