2020 all-new Toyota Supra rear view leaked ahead of the debut
ABU DHABI: It was not long ago when the front fascia of the 2020 all-new Toyota Supra, fifth-gen A90 Supra, was leaked. It showed the faithful design cues from the original concept. And now we have another leak. This time it’s the rear view of the car that has been circulated around the web ahead of its official debut, which is scheduled to happen in January 2019 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
The leaked rear image shows the all-new yellow A90 Supra flaunting its ravishing back with an integrated trunk spoiler, Supra badging and new, exclusive L-shaped LED tail lamps. Additionally, there are twin exhaust pipes peeping through the rear diffuser. Notably, it seems to be in line with the original concept just like the front.
For comparison, one of the forums revealed the Toyota FT-1 concept, on which the looks of the 2020 Toyota Supra are based. However, it can be interpreted that the company has intelligently toned down the sharp lines of the concept for the road-ready model.
So, as far as the looks are concerned, we have been exposed to both, front and rear. While we also have the engine specs - the all-new Supra will be out with two turbocharged engine options, an in-line four 2.0-litre and an inline-six 3.0-litre.
Both the engines, sourced from the German auto producer, BMW, are coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A manual gearbox is expected to be made available after the launch. However, there is no official word regarding the same yet.
The smaller 2.0-litre turbocharged unit churns out a max power of 265 PS whereas the bigger 3.0litre unit is capable of producing 340 PS. For more details, we’ll have to wait until January 14 when the 2019 Detroit Auto Show goes underway. Till then stay tuned with us for exciting, new updates from the automotive world.
